R2-D2 Cake

Well I have finished the R2-D2 cake, all I have left to do is delivery it and finish the assembly tomorrow at the reception. I have to say I’m very happy with the way it came out. Our there some flaws, yes, but I’m still pleased with it. After I assemble it tomorrow, I will post pictures. Currently R2’s legs are not attached and I don’t want to post pictures of an incomplete cake. I hope the bride and groom are as happy with it as I am.

R2-D2 Week

Yes that is correct R2-D2 Week has begun. What does that mean? The R2-D2 cake that Three Blind Mice Bakery is doing has begun construction. Now don’t worry the actual cake has not been baked this early. Tonight I constructed the base for it and made the butter cream icing.

I’m happy with the base, a tad nervous about the 30 minute delivery on Saturday but I decided that I will finish construction on the actual cake on Saturday at the reception. Better safe than sorry.

Another Order

Very excited for this weekend Three Blind Mice Bakery has another cake order to complete. Super excited that it is for Team Trafik.

The design is fun and the cake is going to be on the larger size 3.5 tiers and should stand about 16 inches. I can’t wait to get started on it tonight. Look for pictures on Sunday.

Deal

So a few months ago I was feeling like Three Blind Mice Bakery was costing too much and I should just stop before I got in too far. Well Jeff wouldn’t hear of it. Kept saying this was my dream and I had to give it a shot. Well I wasn’t hearing it, I can be quite stubborn. So we made a deal. The deal was if Three Blind Mice Bakery received 4 confirmed orders by December 31, 2011 I would continue to pursue it. If not 3BM was over. Well I am happy to report that the fourth confirmed order was received this week. So 3BM will live on for at least the rest of this year. We’ll see what 2012 has in store for us.

Confirmed

Okay folks the R2-D2 cake is confirmed for Three Blind Mice Bakery. Plus the cake has gone from being at the rehearsal dinner to being at the actual wedding in October!!! I’m so freaking excited for this cake. Cake tasting will happen in a few weeks plus a practice cake will happen in August or September as well. This cake needs to be perfect. I can’t call myself a Star Wars fan and have this cake be anything less than perfect.

At this point I need thank Mr. Robert Trautman, once again, for the incredible website he designed. My client found me because of the website. I cannot thank him enough for everything he has done for Three Blind Mice.

I would also like to thank my husband Jeffrey. He was the one who encouraged me to pursue this. The one who allows me to purchase what ever I need to be successful.  Plus he is my muse, my inspiration for all my cakes. I love you with all my heart.

Meeting

Well this afternoon is the day. I have my very first meeting with a potential client that is not a friend. Yes it’s for the R2-D2 cake. I’m so excited. I really hope this ends up happening. I want to do this cake so bad. It will be a lot of work but so worth it in the end.

R2-D2

So the R2-D2 cake that Three Blind Mice Bakery may be creating is one step closer to becoming a reality. Next week I meet with the perspective client to discuss flavors, delivery and size. I have to say I am extremely excited and nervous at the same time.

Excited because I love Star Wars so doing this cake will be a blast. Nervous because this would be the first cake that I do for out side my group of friends and there is a lot of detail in R2-D2 and I want to make sure I capture all of it. I can’t let Mr. Lucas down…lol.

So stay tuned for updates and pictures once it is done. I’m thinking I may even blog each step of this cake. I feel it would be interesting to show this cake from start to finish.
